It’s a LeConte pear, introduced to Georgia in 1856 John Eatton LeConte. He was the uncle of my second cousins thrice removed Professors John and Louis LeConte.

We got this Pyrus communis from cousin Cecil in a pot. When we moved the pot to the garden to plant it, it had already grown a root into the ground. And the root grew a tree on the driveway.
