We are doing this for our health, and yours, too. And Traci Gosier’s talk is about health:
What is the program? Georgia Working on Health Initiative. The initiative aims to reduce the burden of chronic disease by partnering with Georgia businesses to create and enhance healthy worksite environments and improve employee health.
How do they get involved? Take the online pledge at dph.ga.gov/working-on-health then you will receive the following:
- Commitment letter with sample policies
- An electronic version of the Work Healthy Georgia toolkit
- Window decals to post (tobacco free-environment, breast feeding friendly, support employees being physically active and eating healthy) at your school, worksite, early childcare setting, or retail establishment.
How much does it cost? Free and technical assistance provided by South Health District Health Promotion Coordinator Traci Gosier (Traci.Gosier@dph.ga.gov)
What are the benefits? Healthier employees, increase in employee moral, increase in productivity, decrease in absenteeism and presenteeism
You can register now to hear Traci Gosier talk about health at South Georgia Growing Local, Saturday, February 6th 2016, at Pine Grove Middle School, Lowndes County, Georgia. And note that’s the new Pine Grove Middle School, 4159 River Rd, Valdosta, GA 31605.
Sure, you can wait and pay at the door, but that’ll cost you $10 more.
